founder of Sugar Bliss, a women and minority (AAPI) owned bakery in Downtown Chicago.
Here’s how it all started: in corporate finance! Can you believe it? I studied Economics and Statistics at the University of Chicago. But after working at various finance firms, I realized that life wasn’t for me. My dream was to open the very first cupcake boutique in Downtown Chicago. So after attending pastry school at Le Cordon Blue Patisserie in Paris, that’s exactly what I did.
In October 2007, I launched the catering and delivery side of the business with over 20 different delicious cupcake flavors. Then in January 2009, my dream finally came true:
Sugar Bliss opened its first retail store in Downtown Chicago. We are located at 122 S Wabash Avenue.
There isn’t better in Chicago. Everything I’ve had here is delicious. My favorite are the mini cupcakes. When clients or friends see the variety in the beautiful packaging, their eyes light up! What a special gift. The macarons were the perfect texture, and I loved their instructions for keeping them longer! Super helpful when I went to eat them the next day. Their team is amazing, and again, the desserts are crave-able.
